PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

I value equity, creativity, collaboration, as well as lifelong learning. I define my career as “education- adjacent” and am an advocate for libraries, youth, and racial justice. My goal is to serve the public through libraries to help build a just and flourishing society.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Librarian, 2023-present
Columbus Metropolitan Library (Main Library), Columbus, Ohio
  • Provides children's programming and class visits, with a focus on teen services, programs, and engagements.
  • Advocates for teens at the library and supports them through Restorative Practices.
  • Supervises and develops the Children's Division intern.
  • Manages the teen collection, ensuring it is appealing and relevant to teen customers.
  • Collaborates on special events and projects to support the library's Young Minds strategy, such as exhibits and the Teen Services Orientation. 
  • Contributes to systemwide programs and initiatives through being a part of the Summer Reading Challenge Committee, the Racial Equity Steering Committee, and as a leader of the AAPI Employee Resource group.

  • Led and Coordinated the management of the children’s collection by running reports, weeding, and evaluating materials on several criteria.
  • Provided readers’ advisory, has regular reading conversations, merchandizes materials, and manages diverse and engaging displays.
